Grand Theft Auto 6 Pre-order is Available and fans are frustrated

The long awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally available for people to pre-order for it’s release on November 19th, 2026. Pre-order is available on PlayStation, Xbox consoles and Steam. The last Grand Theft Auto game came out in 2013, when the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were the dominate consoles at the time.

How much will it cost?

Grand Theft Auto VI Standard Edition is $80 and the Ultimate Edition will cost $100. Pre-ordering the Standard Edition provides buyers with a unique outfit for the main characters: Lucia and Jason.

The ultimate edition will have two extra missions, additional vehicles, outfits, guns, customization, safehouses and shops

Why are fans frustrated?

While GTA 6 is releasing on November 19th, 2026, the physical edition in stores will only be a digital code in a box. No disc means users will not be able to play the game if their copy is ever redacted or they can no longer access their accounts. With more game sales being 80% digital, game companies are investing less in physical copies. In addition, tariffs, rise of cost of materials, and general less sales, has caused gaming companies to pivot towards digital. While the loud fan bases claims for physical, statistically, more sales are digital.

Will there be a disc version?

There is currently a rumor that Rockstar, GTA 6’s publisher, that a physical version will release in December 2026. This would help capture the Holiday market. However, it is only a rumor at this time. According to PPE.pl, this information comes from insider Graczdari, who leaked that GTA 6 would not have a physical disc at launch back in March 2026.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is the most profitable game of all time. It has consistently been the top performing game in terms of sales despite releasing in 2013. Re-releases and continuous support of online content has made it extremely profitable. All eyes are on how well it will be; for gamers and businesses. Can it bring enough money into a struggling industry, or will GTA 6 drown in user’s expectations?
