NES and SNES Classic ends production

If you haven’t purchased an NES or SNES classic, you better hurry as Nintendo has announced they will stop production after this holiday season. Hollywood Reporter interviewed Reggie Fils-Aime regarding the Classics.

“We’ve said that the current systems are the extent of our classic program,” Fils-Aime said. “We’ve also been clear that, at least from an Americas perspective, these products are going to be available through the holiday season and once they sell out, they’re gone. And that’s it.”

Nintendo pricingNintendo will now focus on the Nintendo Switch Online Subscriber system. People who purchased the online membership have access to classic NES games. Hopefully, they will start to greatly expand the list from NES to their other past games.

There are no plans for an N64 classic according to Fils-Aime in November. I recommend buying the classic if you are remotely interested. People will start buying them and resale them for higher prices.

NES Classic Edition Returns!

If you weren’t able to get your hands on the NES Classic two years ago and have been avoiding scrapers who are selling the console for three times the price, you’re in luck. Nintendo is bringing back the NES Classic Edition on June 29th. They expect the stock to last for the rest of 2018.

The NES Classic is set for $59.99 and the games will remain the same.
