Anthem PlayStation 4 Disaster Report

Anthem has been out for almost one month and it’s been receiving average reviews. The Metacritic score is 60%.  Players note the similarities to Destiny and Warframe but often note how the different UI and mechanics can be frustrating. While the game is beautiful, many reviewers commented on the lack of overall content from the game. The game is considered EA Bioware‘s last hurrah as Mass Effect Andromeda sold and reviewed below the company’s goal. Unfortunately, Anthem has been having many glitches within the game; specifically the PlayStation 4 version.

Reporting on Anthem’s subreddit, playing the game will cause the system to close the game or shut off. Some players cause the system to have a software error which will force the players to start the PS4 in safe mode. EA is aware of the issues and has provided a link for players to report crashes.

PlayStation has offered refunds for players who purchased the digital copy of the game. You can reach out to PlayStation support to request a refund. Many people have noted there was no hassle. PlayStation usually doesn’t offer refunds for digital purchases.

It’s unfortunate that Bioware is tied to a lackluster game launch. A lot of people believe the game was rushed out to meet the quarter end. Considering the studio worked on such massive franchises like Knight of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect, it’s disappointing to see their game fail to meet player’s standards.

Guide to Soft Reset Fix

Dead or Alive 6’s Season Pass is $92.99

Dead or Alive is famous for three things: sexy ninjas fighters, 3D fighting gameplay, and having a ton of costumes. Dead or Alive 5 had many costumes packs. To buy the entire collection, players would have to spend more than $1000! Koei Tecmo seems to continue this business practice with Dead or Alive 6 as their Season Pass 1 will be $92.99.

What could be included to warrant such a price? Well so far, Mai Shiranui from the King Image result for mai dead or alive 6of Fighters series who is well known for her assets. Also one new DLC character. The rest are all costumes; specifically 62. It’s pretty absurd for players to purchase DLC priced higher than the game but this is a common business practice for Koei Tecmo. Many of their game franchises such as Dynasty Warriors feature massive costume packs over microtransactions.

While DLC is completely optional, it’s pretty crazy to pay such a huge price for the 1st season pass; especially since it’s more expensive than the base game.

Pokemon Generation 8 from the Nintendo Direct

Pokemon Sword and Shield will be the new generation in the franchise. The game will launch in late 2019 worldwide so expect a holiday release. It is set in the Galar Region which features snowy and green mountains, European-like towns, and caves.

Of course, the three starters were announced. Grookey, a mischievous monkey, Scorbunny, an active bunny, and Sobble, a timid water lizard. I’m not a huge fan of the designs and they looked extremely small in the gameplay trailer.

Gameplay

It still looks like traditional Pokemon and it seems to be using the same engine as Pokemon Let’s Go. Characters are much taller looking than before, especially the playable character. Perhaps these are signs of the game trying to reach an adolescent market. Random battles have returned which is unfortunate. I personally enjoyed that Pokemon Let’s Go allowed players to see which Pokemon they would run into. However, you can battle wild Pokemon again.

More announcements are coming soon so come back for your Pokemon news soon.

Reggie has been with the company for 15 years. He made history by appearing on stage at E3 2004 saying “My name is Reggie. I’m about kickin’ ass, I’m about takin’ names, and we’re about makin’ games.” He is a famous spokesperson for Nintendo. He often showed up at events alongside Shigeru Miyamoto and the late Iwada. He always included his own flair and personality into everything that he said and was never embarrassed to act silly for the camera. Reggie came in during the growth of the internet and it was a treat to see him during Nintendo directs and events. He is a genuine gamer and person and it showed through everything he said and did and I’ll miss him greatly. Below is Nintendo’s tweet regarding his departure.

Below is the press release statement by Nintendo

“I really appreciate everything Reggie has done for Nintendo,” said Shuntaro Furukawa, President of Nintendo Co., Ltd. “Inside and outside our company, Reggie is known as an exceptional leader. We are grateful that he is leaving the business in good shape with strong momentum. While we will miss him and we wish him the very best in his retirement, we are also pleased to have such an able successor ready to step into that role. Doug Bowser and the rest of the team will ensure a seamless transition and continued momentum for Nintendo.”

“Nintendo owns a part of my heart forever,” Fils-Aime said. “It’s a part that is filled with gratitude – for the incredibly talented people I’ve worked with, for the opportunity to represent such a wonderful brand, and most of all, to feel like a member of the world’s most positive and enduring gamer community. As I look forward to departing in both good health and good humor, this is not ‘game over’ for me, but instead ‘leveling up’ to more time with my wife, family and friends.”

And:

“It has been my great fortune to work with and be mentored by Reggie for four years at Nintendo of America,” Bowser said. “And rest assured, we will continue to build on his work to evolve and expand our brand, furthering Nintendo’s global mission of creating smiles. There are millions more of those to come.”
